Lava Watchers grew from the original Doing Hawaii YouTube channel, which began in 2013 as a way to share life, places, and experiences from Hawaiʻi Island.
Everything changed during the 2018 Kīlauea eruption. What started as sharing personal observations from a major volcanic event became a growing community of viewers who wanted to follow what was happening, understand the activity, and watch the volcano in real time.
Today, Lava Watchers is focused on monitoring Kīlauea and Mauna Loa, with an emphasis on live stream coverage, volcano updates, earthquake charts, public monitoring data, and easy-to-follow explanations for viewers who want to stay connected to Hawaiʻi Island volcano activity.
